About Ron McLoughlin

Born on a Quarter Horse ranch in Petaluma, California, Ron McLoughlin brings more than 40 years of horse handling and instructional experience to the arena. His background includes early dressage training in Germany and 12 years of intensive study and clinic work with legendary equine scientist Monte Foreman. Certified as a Foreman Instructor in 1978, Ron has dedicated his career to preserving and advancing the Foreman Humane System—focused on the science of footwork, move-basics, and correct rider position. As head instructor of the Classical Stock Seat School of Arizona in Pearce, Arizona, Ron continues active research and instruction, teaching a balanced, humane system that develops willing, responsive horses across all disciplines.

Classical Stock Seat School of Arizona is a non-profit riding school located in southeastern Arizona between the Chiricahua Mountains and Cochise’s Stronghold. Built on time-proven classical stock seat principles and the humane Foreman-McLoughlin system, the School emphasizes lateral control, ethical horsemanship, and hands-on education through clinics and instruction for riders of all levels.
